Cocktail competition

Have you ever been interested in what it takes to become a bartender? Or how much preparation takes to craft and make the perfect cocktail? Your Insider is happy to tell that you have a chance to observe “a challenge that is serious but also fun”.  On the 5th of October 2016, starting at 13:00 and ending at 16:30, our university is hosting the Inter Campus Cocktail Challenge at the Leura Restaurant.  Remarkably, the challenge is the first of its kind in Thailand and open exclusively to students of hotel management.

You should join the spectacle and observe the competition, witness a stunning performance by a former champion of Thailand in flair bartending. Also treat your ears with live music performances by students and of course free finger foods and mocktails. During the event you will get a chance to mingle with students from different universities as well.

The goal of the competition is to encourage students to match their beverage hospitality skills with the best ones and also to find the future “Crème de la crème” of bartending and mixology. The Inter Campus Cocktail Challenge is where students from different universities in Bangkok will compete in a two-stage competition until a winner is decided. In the first round contestants are challenged to craft two classic cocktails, and to test their innovative skills and craft their own signature cocktail to impress a panel of judges. Then the top three students will move on to the final round, where participants will have to create and craft classic cocktails and a signature cocktail as well. The first place winner will receive a trophy, a photo shoot and the winning cocktail will be featured in our partners’  5 – star hotels in Bangkok as well and finally a cash prize of 5,000 Baht coming with a professional bartending kit valued at 7,000 – 8,000 Baht.

Your Insider encourages you to visit and experience the Inter Campus Cocktail Challenge on the 5th of October at 13.00, which is organized with the help of our partners.  Pernod Ricard Group has kindly donated products for the challenge, and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and the Siam Kempinski hotel will help us to select the best of the best.

Sincerely yours,
